Monday Haircare NPD Launch - Video Edit & Motion Design

Three new products launched by Zuru for their haircare range Monday. Output for a variation of channels from TV, paid social, display ads and organic.

Scrub Through and Grading

After the video shoots we were left with a lot of footage to edit and determine the best shots to match the storyboard.

Each new product had its own unique grade using a combination of After Effects and Da Vinchi Resolve. Here is an exmple of the Hair Mask Retouch, but all three had a similar process albeit with different art direction.

Monday Hair Masks

There were three variations of the hair masks, but the shoot was combined into one. With most the footage using a single product name, some tracking, rotoscoping and comping was needed to replace names.

Hair Mask Supers and Graphics

The losenge and title effect were created using a combination of Cinema4d and After effects. A subtle text effect was applied to text to give it a little bit more engagement, but not too overpowering. The target audience is quite young on these products so it gave me the freedom to create supers that are more playful.

Monday Body Wash

The art direction for bodywash was to incorporate a "steam" effect and give the impression it was shot in a wet room. After the initial colour grade I experimented with a few different passes to create water on lens overlays and a subtle steam effect.

Fun Transitions

Throughout all creatives I played around with transition styles. Due to the limitations on what shots could be used on the bodywash, I created an imaginary horizontal truck right by stitching the same shot together at different timestamps.

Monday Hairspray

The storyboard for this one wanted to show two friends separately preparing their hair, and then hanging out at the end. To achieve this I implemented a bento box effect for separation and to create fun, smooth transitions.
